Prayer for the Eternal Rest of Pope Francis

God, faithful rewarder of souls,
we humbly come before You in this time of sorrow,
grateful for the gift of Pope Francis,
peacemaker, friend to the poor and imprisoned,
and faithful shepherd of Your Church.

We thank You for his faith,
compassionate leadership, and dedication
to spreading the Good News of Your Son, Jesus Christ.

We entrust his soul to Your infinite mercy.
Grant him eternal rest in Your heavenly kingdom,
where he may rejoice in the fullness of Your love
in the company of all the saints.
Through Christ our Lord,
